Arabic Fonts on Ubuntu 8.04
In Fact, Ubuntu 8.04 also known as “HARDY HERON” has enclosed n figured arabic fonts in it’s released 🙂 which supported by Arabeyes likes :
- Al-Arabiyah
- Al-Battar
- Al-Hor
- Al-Manzomah
- Al-Mateen
- Al-Mohannad
- Al-Mothnna
- Al-Yarmook
but these fonts can’t be used immediately cZ needed to be configures previously 😦
Installing Packages :
- Update Source List at /etc/apt/sources.list
- Add from the mirror such as kebo, kambing etc
- from repositories CD’s (7.10 or 8.04)
- Click System – Preferences – Keyboard
- Click +Add on Layouts till opened new window
- Choose arabic-keyboard
root@caktuh:#apt-get update
asked to install packages of arabic-fonts

Configures Keyboard
- Right-Click on PANEL
- Choose Add to Panel
- Casting ’bout “Keyboard Indicator“
- Right-Click on it and choose Keyboard_Preferences
- afterwards, click +Add on Layouts
- Choose “Layouts (arabic)” and “Variant (buckwalter or qwerty)” of the Keyboard

Proper n Test
- Open U’r Open Office n try to write using the arabic
- Enjoy U’r selves 🙂
click on Keyboard Indicator to switch between Arabic and English

owala iki t pak kelas x di gae tugas gae keyboard arab!!!!apa bedanya dengan alkafi arabic keyboard!!!
